Sick

So of course with 6 in a family we all had to go through the stomach virus before hopefully it is over. The night of the 14th or should I say the morning of the 15th at 2am Bailey started the week long trial of vomitting and well you know. LOL. Last night and today was my turn. We all started the illness in the middle of the night. I hope that we are all over it and then maybe I can get caught up on all the laundry as you can imagine.
On other news my brother in law went to the doctor today to get the pathology results from his brain tumor. Well apparently the local pathologist said there was something "different" about the tissue and sent it to the mayo clinic for final results. So we are hoping for news tomorrow. So please keep the prayers going as they are so stressed right now.
Now on a lighter front. I finally got my new camera. Yeah I've been wanting this since before Christmas. It is my Christmas '08 and this year's bday present. It was perfect that I got it before Alexa's soccer game and Bailey's bday. So of course I went crazy with photos. Here is a good one of Chris and one of Kelsey that I like. I also took some sequential photos of the kids running and Alexa playing soccer. I just love it. I can't wait to learn to do more things with it.

GOD is GOOD

My brother in law had 75% of a lemon sized brain tumor removed last night. They do not believe it is cancer but won't be sure for 5-7 days. He may go home as soon as Sunday. I believe the car accident was a blessing in that it let them know he had the tumor before it could do too much damage. They were unable to remove the whole tumor because it is around a major artery and any manipulation would have left him paralyzed on the left side. So although he may have to have more surgeries he for now is doing ok and each day is another day we were unsure he would be with us. So thank you God as I know you are GOOD.

Prayers please!

My brother in law was in a serious car accident last Thursday. I wish it was that simple. That next day they found he had a brain tumor the size of a lemon. It appears God has ways of letting us know there is something wrong. To me the accident was his way of saying you need checked out. This Thursday he will have a biopsy to determine if it is cancer or not. He works for UPS and they have stepped up and made a huge decision. They are going to continue his insurance even though he should have been dropped after 90 days. They are also going to pay him 60% of his income until he can return to work. Of course he will never be able to drive for them again and will only be able to work in there warehouse. I think this is huge when it seems more time than not companies are turning their backs on people. So please pray for it to not be cancer and a quick recovery. He has a beautiful family that needs their strong daddy.

Let's get it started

Ok so I have started my new job and love it. There is a lot of freedom yet a lot of requirements. I just can't wait to get on my own. I have one more week of orientation then I can get my own patient load and do things my way. Which I hope is more organized them some of the others.
The kids seem to have adjusted to me being on days as well as Brent has. I am amazed at how he has stepped up to the plate. I still do almost all the cleaning and cooking but that is ok. I like to see how things look better after I clean them.
I haven't had much time for my crafts as I am usually tired and ready for bed by the time the kids go to bet themselves. I will have to find time to do that as I am so far behind. Well hope all is well with everyone and after all the rain the last few and upcoming days I hope the sun starts to shine.

Got the Job!

I got the job and start on Wednesday. I am so excited. It will be the first time in 10 years that I work day shift. My husband and kids are so supportive. Everyone keeps telling me it's amazing how different you feel working days than working nights. So we will see. I am still really nervous about not working in a hospital setting. I speak with my nurse manager in the morning. I hope I will be accepted back if it's something I don't like.

More Changes

Ok so the seasons change. My kids are changing. So why can't I? Well I am about to. I am going to work for a home hospice. I look forward to being home in the evening and having a little more freedom with my job. I think the "extra" requirements will be less. Yes coming in on my day off for a meeting or a class is a pain in the you know what. I just hope my husband doesn't get sick of doing all the running with the kids as I know how rough it can be. I am just going to have to stay positive and do my best to not feel run down. I also hope I will still be able to do crafts as that is a big stress relief for me.

Changes

Our first big change is we have moved again and hopefully for the last time as I can't stand moving all the time.
So today is Bailey's first day at her new preschool. She will go 5 days a week in the mornings. I feel so weird at home all alone. Well not totally alone there are some people working on the house and specifically in my craft room. Which of course is preventing me from taking full advantage of my morning alone. I guess I will have to wait till Thursday to truely get the benefits.
In 2 weeks I am switching to only 2 nights a week. That is unless now that Ramie is quitting in 2 weeks that take it back. Which I hope not as I don't know how much longer I can take all the extra stuff they ask us to do along with the 3 nights a week.
The only change which isn't much of one is that Brent will be working from home all the time. So we have split the basement to be his office and my craft room. Which I can say has turned out quite nicely. I just need to get a space heater to keep the room warm.

Happy New Year

I wanted to wish everyone a very happy and productive new year. I of course chose to work new years eve night and new years day night so no celebration for me. Chris and Alexa went to see twilight by themselves which is a first of many trips to the theatre I am sure. They love to go and don't mind spending their money on it like parents do. I think we remember when it was cheaper and now there are so many cheaper ways to see the movies that we don't want to pay the money. But hey if that's what they want to do with their money so be it. Kelsey on the other hand got to stay up to welcome in the new year. She had no clue what to expect so it was both funny and frustrating for Brent.
Well I am still doing some scrapbooking but need to buy a bunch of albums so have slowed down a lot. I did just buy 300+ pictures so I should get started before they pile up on me. I have found that I love doing ATC and have a ton of those. They are just so quick and fun. They also help me use a lot of my supplies I otherwise would have wasted.
Well again hope everyone has a wonderful new year.
